Biographical / Historical

Ruth Jinks was born in Butts County, Georgia, in 1878. She attended the WMU Training School in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1909 and 1912. She worked as a Pastor’s Assistant at the East Durham Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina, from 1920-1924 and a State Missionary for the Georgia Baptist Convention in the 1930s. She was a hotel entrepreneur in Miami, Florida, and Clayton, Georgia. Ruth Jinks died in Atlanta, Georgia in 1959.
