Scope and Contents
The Louie D. Newton Papers consists of the personal papers of Louie Devotie Newton with materials dated 1879-1986. There are 29 boxes in total. The papers include correspondence, clippings, printed material, photographs, ephemera, audio visial materials, and a scrapbook (1939) of clippings pertaining to the Baptist World Alliance. The materials document Newton's pastorate at Druid Hills Baptist Church (Atlanta, Ga.), his activities with the Southern Baptist Convention, and his broadcasts on WSB radio.
