When an item is recalled, the person in possession of the item receives a request to return it. Only Mercer faculty and staff may place recalls on library material.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bb9b9d1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"bb9b9d1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Having Your Item Recalled<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cfe6e1a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cfe6e1a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><em>Note: <\/em><\/strong>If a person recalls an item a borrower has checked out, he\/she will receive a new due date and a fine of $2.50 per day will be charged beyond that due date.<\/p><p>Items needed by faculty for a class or reserve will be recalled with\u00a0<strong>an immediate due date<\/strong>.\u00a0Recall dates are determined by a patron&#8217;s registration status and the type of item being recalled. Employees owing $500 or more will likewise have their library privileges suspended.<\/li><li>Library holds will be placed on the student information record of any student owing $25.00 or more.<\/li><li>Fines may be paid via Bear Card at the circulation desk or\u00a0online\u00a0via the <a href=\"https:\/\/accounting-mercer.nbsstore.net\/\">Mercer eStore<\/a> using a credit or debit card. See our <a href=\"https:\/\/mercer.libanswers.com\/faq\/331145\">FAQ for step-by-step instructions.<\/a><\/li><li>Overdue books, CD-ROMs, and sound recordings accrue no late fines, as long as original items are returned, or if they have been recalled (see \u201cRecalls\u201d above). However, once an item has been reported \u201clost\u201d in the system, the item record is removed, and a new copy automatically purchased by the Libraries.<\/li><li>When lost items are billed, there is a non-refundable fee of $65 per item and a $10 service If the item replacement costs exceed $65.00, the actual cost will be charged instead.<\/li><li>After a replacement item is purchased, no
